Dr. Azevedo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Human Factors & Aging Laboratory at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is working on the Blood Pressure Study: a digital health intervention that supports medication self-management, autonomy, and remote monitoring to improve antihypertensive medication adherence. His research is focused on relationships among professional expertise, aging, cognition, decision making, and risk perception in complex domains such as health, accounting, and behavioral economics. On the Blood Pressure Study, he is the Illinois site lead for the RCT, with a specific focus on finding technology-based support systems to promote education and successful decision-making and behaviors in older adulthood.
